Product name: Laser floor lamp by Giorgio De Ferrari for VeArt, 1973
Halogen floor lamp Laser designed by Giorgio De Ferrari for VeArt, 1973.
Translated from an Italian advertisement by VeArt: “Floor lamp, in steel with marble base. It is intended for a halogen bulb, the luminous intensity is adjustable.”
The Laser lamp has some very interesting details: the heavy marble base contains four holes very similar to those of a bowling ball to allow lifting of the lamp, the dimmer is incorporated in the smaller steel tube and the top of the longer tube is adjustable in alle directions.
The model was presented during the 15th Triennale in Milan, in 1968. The Triennale was entitled “The Great Number”, with exhibitions and events focused on themes like the design for mass production and the role of creativity in the mass society (source: inexhibit.com).
This lamp has not been in mass production; on the contrary it is a very rare piece.
