Product name: Pair of Periscopio table lamps by Danilo & Corrado Aroldi for Stilnovo, 1960s
A pair of Periscopio table lamps with clamp and a matching base by Danilo and Corrado Aroldi for Stilnovo, 1967.
As described in Stillovo Catalogue No. 30: “Swivelling lamp, with vertical and horizontal motion and rotation about the axis of the arm. Nylon joint stiffened by rubber covered fiberglass. Scheduled for the use of a Cornalux bulb, 60 W.”
These two lamps and the matching metal bases are in mint condition (new old stock). The lamps can be attached to a table with the clamp; but special to these pair of lamps are the accompanying metal bases so that they can be positioned more easily.
Besides this Periscopio clamp version the series consisted of a wide variety of models and colours; Stilnovo produced several Periscopio table lamps, a ceiling lamp with use of rail and two floor lamps.
Literature: “Italy – The New Domestic Landscape” edited by Emilio Ambasz, page 62. Publisher: New York Graphic Society, Greenwich, Conn. 1972.
Price is for the pair. The Cornalux lightbulbs (suitable for 220 volt) are included in the offer.
