Product name: LS 134 Murano glass pendant by Carlo Nason for A.V. Mazzega, 1960s
LS 134 pendant designed by Carlo Nason and manufactured by A.V. Mazzega in the 1960s.
The model, also known as Medusa, is composed of four interlocking hand-blown Murano glass parts.
The most inner glass is the least transparent, the other three elements are half transparent opaline glass. When the lamp is switched on, the inner part appears as a surprisingly bell-shaped element and the layering of the glass gives a magical effect. The hardware is in steel.
The condition of the LS 134 pendant is excellent.
In the Discover section of our website you can find an exclusive interview with Carlo Nason on his collaboration with A.V. Mazzega, when he had the freedom to design whatever he wanted.
According to Carlo Nason the LS 134 pendant was “…a bit complicated [to make], but the effect was great. It was very successful, that lamp. Now it would be more difficult, it would cost a lot to make four pieces of glass for one lamp. At that time it was possible.”
