Product name: Sona Pendant by Carlo Nason for Lumenform, 1970s
Sona, a murano glass pendant designed by Carlo Nason and manufactured by Lumenform, 1970s. The pendant is made of iridescent glass and metal.
The glass globe has a round opening on both sides. The bulb holder is secured in the smaller of the two openings. A curved metal frame extends from this holder to the other opening, while a metal wire extends downward from the ceiling mount. By attaching the end of the wire to the curved frame, the tilt angle of the lamp can be determined and easily adjusted.
The condition of the Sona pendant is good. The lamp has a small, barely visible chip on the edge of the round opening (see fifth picture). We believe this does not detract from the lamp’s beauty.
In the Discover section of our website you can find an exclusive interview with Carlo Nason on his collaboration with A.V. Mazzega, when he had the freedom to design whatever he wanted.
