Product name: White Sintesi floor lamp by Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide, 1970s
Sintesi floor lamp designed by Ernesto Gismondi for Italian lighting company Artemide in 1975.
Like all models within the Sintesi series these floor lamps are flexible. The aluminium shade is completely directional. You can adjust the height of the lamps; it can vary between 62 cm / 24 inch and 142 cm / 56 inch. This difference is illustrated on the first picture. As can be seen in the penultimate photo, the lamp is fully foldable and therefore easy to transport.
Gismondi made several variations of this lighting object. This is the -according to us- most striking model of the complete range.
Both pieces are similar, but not exactly the same. The lamp on the right is a first edition with Cornalux or hammerhead bulb. The other lamp is a second edition with an aluminium reflector and a regular E27 lightbulb socket. In addition, the color of the metal ‘cage’ around the light bulb differs; the left piece has a black part and the right piece has a white part.
The lamp is in very good vintage conditions.
Rare piece.
