Oracolo and Mezzoracolo table or floor lamps by Italian architect Gae Aulenti, executed by Artemide.

The smaller version is called Mezzoracolo and is 67 cm high. The larger version is named Oracolo, and the height of this lamp is 140 cm.

Both lamps have a large white globe in opal glass which sits atop a dark cylindrical brown-coated metal base.

The light switches are original as they are made of the same material as the base of the lamps. The switch of the Mezzoracolo offers the possibility to switch on / off the lightbulbs in the globe and the base independently of each other.

The Oracolo and Mezzoracolo lamps are described in ‘Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000’ by Giuliana Gramigna on Page 164 (1969).
