Product name: Oracolo floor lamp by Gae Aulenti for Artemide, 1970s
Oracolo floor lamp by Italian architect Gae Aulenti, executed by Artemide. This is the larger version, and it is 140 cm high. The smaller version is named Mezzoracolo, and the height of this lamp is 67 cm.
A large white globe in opal glass sits atop a dark cylindrical brown-coated metal base. The light switch is original and is made of the same material as the base of the lamp.
The lamp is described in ‘Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000’ by Giuliana Gramigna on Page 164 (1969).
