Product name: Model 524 Table lamp by Franco Albini & Franca Helg for Arteluce, 1960s
Model 524 table lamp designed by Franco Albini and Franca Helg and manufactured by Arteluce.
The model consists of eight rectangular transparant perspex panels that are placed in the form of a star. The perspex panels are held together at the top and bottom by a chrome-plated metal core structure that assures the geometric shape. The cut-outs in the perspex panels together form the rays of a lightbulb.
The model is an early example of acrylic elements used in lighting solutions.
Giuliana Gramigna mentions Model 524 by Franco Albini and Franca Helg in her standard work on Italian design Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000 on page 104 (1963).
Original wiring, but with a new plug.
Excellent vintage condition.
