Product name: Sterrenregen Wall lamp by Evert Jelle Jelles for RAAK Amsterdam, 1960s
This wall lamp is called Sterrenregen (or in English: Meteor shower) and is designed by architect and designer Evert Jelle Jelles for RAAK Amsterdam, in The Netherlands in 1965. The lamp is made from enamelled steel with pierced decorations.
According to RAAK Amsterdam in one of their catalogues: “The perforations provide a special light effect like an astronomical object. Small and large stars sparkling against a metallic grey background form a yet unknown constellation. The stars are actually perforations in the metal front, which curl circular outwards.”
The lamp has two sockets made of porcelain. The condition of the lamp is consistent with age and usage. Some minor spots of rust are visible on the back of the lamp.
