Nemea table lamp by Vico Magistretti for Artemide, 1980s

Nemea table lamp by Vico Magistretti and produced by Artemide.

Magistretti designed Nemea in 1979. It consists of a round base, with a chrome tube and a hemisphere mounted on it. The halogen lamp is incorporated in this hemisphere; the light shines downwards and is then reflected by the white base.

The on/off switch is incorporated under the round base. In the original design, the on/off switch also worked as a dimmer, the latter functionality is missing here.

Please be aware that the last picture is added to indicate the size of the lamp; but actually it is a different Nemea lamp.

Beautiful and rare piece.
